The Quinta Velha Government watches with great dismay the unfolding hostilities involving the Russian Federation and Ukraine. After long years of stability, again the heavy clouds of war are spreading over European territory.

We pray that the diplomatic channels remain open and firm, and that a ceasefire can be negotiated as soon as possible.

We place ourselves in continuous prayer for the civilians affected by the conflict, that God may allow them to protect themselves and escape this scourge, and we will continue to follow attentively and hopefully for a quick end to this war.

May St. Rita and Our Lady of the Presentation protect and enlighten all.
