The Government of Quinta Velha carried out a new demographic census in the kingdom. The survey, which was authorized by decree 029.2021, took place between the 23rd and 25th of April and was carried out by the Royal Institute of Geography and Statistics. This was the second census carried out in Quinta Velha, the first was carried out between October 13th and 15th, 2019.
The new census showed profound changes in the population of Quinta Velha, compared to the 2019 census. The number of citizens residing in the Kingdom grew, from 11 to 20, a fact that occurred due to the increase in the Royal influence on family properties that were located within the territories of the country but not yet politically incorporated. Other indices grew due to the increase in the number of citizens.
It is worth mentioning the increase in religious plurality in the Kingdom, where 10% of the population declared themselves as practicing Candomblé and another 10% declared themselves as atheists. Agnostics appeared in the survey, being 5% of the populationn. Catholics are still the majority, 60% of the population, and the second largest religious denomination is still Spiritism, being practiced by 15% of the population of Quiavelheense.
There have also been significant changes in the ethnicities of the population. If in 2019 whites were the majority, representing 54.5% of the population, while blacks were 9.1% and browns 36.4%, today whites represent 35.0% of the population, the same number of browns, while the blacks represent 30.0% of the population.
These changes in the population profile of Quinta Velha occur, as mentioned, due to the incorporation of new family properties to the territories of the Kingdom. These developments mainly reflect on the increase in the population of the Province of Santa Rita, where most of these properties are located. Today the Province of Santa Rita is the most populous in the Kingdom, with 10 inhabitants or 50% of the national population. Let's look at the other indexes.
